After two hours we have finally started to understand the basics of camera work! After an initial hour of deciding the different shots to use we came up with a montage of different angles to present to our audience. Although none of these shots will meet the final cut, we decided as a group it would be much easier for us now to get to basics with the camera and different ways to follow a character. Especially in a film involving the medium of dance. At first we practiced our zooming in and and out of the pointe shoes simply so we could get a better perspective on how close is too close and weather or not we need to show the entire leg or simply the foot. We want to portray the idea of ballet as very graceful and decided a start to finish product of putting on the pointe shoe and doing simple warm up techniques that will allow us to create a more realistic account of of what we are trying to show. We are also thinking about the locations in which we would like to film our piece although it should of been decided earlier we are have trouble deciding on a location in which to film.
