Our Results
Firstly we conducted a survey to identify trends in our target audience. Therefore we asked twenty Six form students to complete our survey. After analysing our results we found many useful ideas to include in our film. We have decided to incorporate as many of the points our target audience have made into our film. Music and dance was perceived to be a popular part of a good feel good film, so we have decided that it would be a good addition to our film. Though, we did not want to produce the stereotyped over dramatic unrealistic fairytale like film. Our survey shows our audience prefers a believable film. We plan to meet these criteria with a story line based around the contrast in two backgrounds and societies and the effects once they are drawn together. The film needs to be gritty showing contrasting depravity and developing the characters in order for the audience to empathise and build a relationship with them. Some romantic spark would also work well although; we want to avoid creating a romantic ‘lovey dovey’ film. After conducting our research we found how the majority of people that prefer a dance related film were teenagers, this is somewhat of an advantage to us, seeing as our film is aimed at a sixth form audience. Many stated that a dance film is both fashionable and inspirational and also how a hint of romance can often make a dance film much more appealing. Therefore, we have decided to produce a gritty dance based film with an element of romance to make it a little more inspirational, we also plan to use music to really create a feel good film when two people of contrasting backgrounds meet.
